My Left Hand, No Kidding

this is my left hand
not of a girl or of a spoiled brat
i placed it in the scanner at the office
just to see if it's working perfectly
and that's my Timex watch strap
i didn't know i have nice hands
i wonder whose hands fit perfectly with mine
ahehe

A Scanner Darkly

Starring: Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson, Winona Ryder
Director: Richard Linklater
2006 Warner Brothers Independent Films

Set in a future world where America has lost the war on drugs, undercover cop Fred (Keanu Reeves) is one of many agents hooked on the popular drug Substance D, which causes its users to develop split personalities. Fred, for instance, is also Bob, a notorious drug dealer. Along with his superior officers, Fred sets up an elaborate scheme to catch Bob and tear down his operation.

Comment: I saw this film over the weekend. I've been a great fan of independent films and of animations (both Japanese and Western) and seeing the name of Keanu Reeves in the DVD box intrigued me. Whoa! (FYI: Jae told me this word is the only expression Keanu Reeves can say with an expression.) What was the film all about? I have no idea. I didnt finish it. It's either i didn't get it or I was just too tired to watch it. But the animation was superb. The creators actually shot live scenes and embedded animation effects to it. Kewl. But if only...if only i finished it. Aye did finish it but the summary he told me didn't make sense at all. The film should be a great treat to those who have read the book. Maybe i'll finish it some other time. Remember to breathe.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Trivia: Richard Linklater also directed Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004). Nice.

The Greatest View from Here

I made this shot of the skies of Bukidnon during one of our office travels sometime in June. I was lucky enough to be carrying my boss' ultra slim Sony Cybershot DSC-T30. We may be all under the same sky, but i've got a better view. Just thought of sharing...

Kai, wish we're staring at the same sky. I miss you.

The Return of the Comeback

Stupid blog title. Couldn't think of a better title. Who cares, it's my blog (suplado effect).
Ey, ey, can't believe i'm back here. Back in my blog, back with my posts, back with my CBox, back with Kai. God, i missed this place. It's been a month exactly since my last post. Just got a little busy, just a little. Hiatus.

I should have been back a week earlier but there was this feeling of "What will i write when i get back?" or "How will I explain?" or "Has anyone posted a reply or a note?" and all those stuff. There were a lot of things popping in my mind while i was out, like writing about this game i was playing, or this album i just listened to, or how i miss Kai, or how i ruined the files at work... endless.

What happened since July 14? Hmmmm...

1. I attended two (2) workshops. One was for the incoming Intel Philippine Science Fair and i took care of the IT stuff (i wasn't a participant). It was supposed to be a 3-day live-in workshop but I figured that sleeping with the participants would not be a good idea. So, I have to go home to the mountains at the end of the day. But on the last night, I asked Jae if i could sleep over their place. The workshop ended Sunday noon but volunteered to take of the materials and equipment (laptop, LCD projector, digital cams, a PC and a printer) back to the office and our office driver was 2 hours late. Great. Just great. I met up with Jae after and got home at 8pm. Fixed my things and left 3am in the morning of Monday for another workshop. This time, it's about Open Source and Open Office Applications, Linux OS and stuff, and 2 days this time. I went home alone on an aircon bus on the afternoon of the 2nd day. Got home at 8pm. I hugged my mom when i got home. I missed her, i missed her dishes and i missed my PC. And i was back to work the next day. IMAGINE: 2 straight weeks of work. Great. F*cking great. *sarcastic*

2. I bought "Ang Paboritong Libro Ni Hudas" by Bob Ong. Finally. And it was a good read. I would recommend it to everyone who would want to have some good laughs. Evil? Nope. Just funny and very Pinoy. It's like having a taste of dying and meeting the Creator and asking him a lot of questions. A funny line "Wag kang tanong ng tanong, para kang Grade 1." Haha. Next on my basket: "Ang Alamat ng Gubat" by Bob Ong. I wish to write a post about Bob Ong next time, and in pure Tagalog.

3. I played Need for Speed: Most Wanted (and still playing). The latest of the Need for Speed game. Two thumbs up for this one. Jae's younger brother mentioned this game once and i just got curious. Maybe, i was just tired of NFS Underground, maybe. Most Wanted was a lot more exciting. Lots of things to do. Lots of chicks. Lots of speed. Lots of busted moments. Pure adrenaline rush. Whooooooooooooooooo! On to Blacklist Number 8 now.

4. PC ng Bayan disbursements, scholarship matters, clerical works, IT tasks, database queries. Endless work. I don't wanna talk about this.

5. Sick. I'm sick! Colds and cough. Sniff, sniff, ahemmm! ahemmm!

6. The Reconstruction of Lucy. Got her fixed up. Some cleanings here, tighten the screw in there. Lucy? Yeah, Lucy. My 3-year old Pentium 4. Hehe. You'll know her one of these days. I artistically decorated her with a bunch of yellow electical tapes so she'd look like a pedestrian lane. You know, those yellow diagonal stripes. Haha. I even placed a Che Guevarra sticker on her right side. Yeahhhhh! She looks a lot better now. Sometimes i just sit in front of her and stare. Crazy. I love Lucy.

I think that sums up everything. And oh, Jae. We did a lot of things. Nah, next time. Gotta go. Remember to breathe.
